This clock is a conceptual translation of the relationship between Steffie and her granddad. She gave her granddad a bracelet that she also had one herself. By this bracelet they would stay connected. Her granddad served the country when he was her age, he died on an age of 77.
You see this in the clock by the separated minutes and hours. Steffie is standing for the minutes, the surface is smooth and as big as her age, 19 at that moment. The surface of the hours is rough, and the size represents his age. The hands almost touch each other, but they would never get back together.

RE CONNECT
2020
Nowadays a lot of food can be bought in the supermarkets. This food has already been processed into different shapes and textu- res, making the original food unrecognizable. With re connect we want to get peop- le back in touch with the original food and textures of processed foowd such as; pop- corn, mexican dip and “borrelnootjes”. The bowls have the textures of the ori- ginal food; corn, avocado and pe- anuts. While using the bowl, the user should reconnect by feeling the textures. During this project we saw a challenge in translating these complicated textures into ceramics by using molds. Furthermore we also played with different types of mold making and experimenting with pigments and glaze.
